    Starting with a sightseeing tour of Kochi (Cochin), this eight-day, guided tour will take you through the tea plantations of Munnar and bring you face to face with the rich biodiversity of Thekkady, part of theWestern Ghats.

    From there we head to Alleppey, known as the “Venice of India” where you will get the chance to stay in a houseboat and explore the famous backwaters of Kerala. This trip comes to an end in Cochin. Please note that entrance fees to the destinations except those in Cochin are not included in the tour price.

    DAY 1: Cochin,Cochin

    Our representative will meet you upon arrival at Cochin International Airport and transfer you to your hotel. Cochin is a beautiful city in the Ernakulam district of Kerala. Over the years, the history and development of this city carries stubborn marks of the British, Arabs, Chinese, Dutch, and Portuguese. It is undoubtedly the best starting point on your effort to capture the beauty of Kerala. Stay overnight at a hotel in Kochi.

    DAY 2: Cochin,Cochin

    Go for a sightseeing tour of Kochi after breakfast. Visit Fort Kochi, located on the western coast of India amid the pristine waters of the Arabian Sea. The architecture of this gorgeous fort uncovers the layers of colonial influence ingrained in the landscape of this city. Visit Saint Francis Church (closed on Sundays) located in the middle of the fort’s complex. Built in the year 1503 AD, it is the oldest church built by Europeans in India. The lofty architecture of this church is impressive in every way and it has managed to retain its ancient charm over the years. Also, visit the Jewish Synagogue located close to Fort Kochi. It was built in 1568 AD and is a showpiece displaying hand-painted floor tiles, Belgium-imported glass chandeliers, rare antiques and an exclusive gallery. Your Kochi sightseeing tour ends with a trip to see Chinese fishing nets. They are the hallmarks of Fort Kochi and are said to have been brought to this part of the world by Chinese explorer Zheng He. You can end your day watching a traditional Kathakali dance show (optional) if you want to.

    Day 3: Cochin - Munnar,Munnar

    Drive to Munnar after breakfast. A beautiful hill station named after three rivers, the Madhurapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundaly, Munnar is a popular honeymoon destination in Kerala that offers spellbinding views of vast spice and tea plantations. It also boasts the highest peak in South India, Anamudi. Check into your hotel in Munnar on arrival. Later, we will take you on a sightseeing tour of Munnar with Eravikulam National Park as the first destination. Eravikulam is home to the exotic Nilgiri tahr (a mountain goat species) and various other endangered species. See the Mattupetty Dam: a concrete gravity dam constructed between 1949 AD and 1953 AD to produce hydroelectricity. The reflection of the surrounding tea gardens falling upon the still water is the best part of this dam. Stay overnight at hotel in Munnar.

    DAY 4: Munnar - Thekkady,Munnar

    After breakfast, we will take you to a tea estate. Munnar is renowned for its tea plantations. Walk through sprawling plantations and soak yourself in the refreshing aroma of tea leaves. You can also visit the Tea Museum that showcases old photographs and huge machinery that were used in tea processing in the past. Also, get a first-hand experience of how tea is processed. Later we will drive you to Thekkady. Nestled amid the Western Ghats, Thekkady entices visitors from throughout the world with its rich biodiversity and natural vistas. It is famous for its wildlife sanctuary, a major tiger reserve in India. Check into the hotel on arrival. You are free for the rest of the day.

    Day 5: Thekkady,Thekkady

    Visit the popular Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, a royal Bengal tiger reserve, after breakfast. This wildlife reserve is also home to elephants, wild boars, leopards, etc. In case you want to, you can also book the optional boat ride in Periyar Lake and enjoy seeing the wild animals that come to the lake to quench their thirst. Stay overnight at hotel in Thekkady.

    DAY 6: Thekkady - Kumarakom,Kumarakom

    Check out of your hotel after breakfast and proceed to Kumarakom, a scenic village located on the banks of Vembanad Lake. Visit the exotic Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, which is also known as ornithologist’s paradise for its dazzling array of birds. Check into your hotel after that. Later in the evening, you have the option to enjoy a sunset cruise in Vembanad Lake. Stay overnight in Kumarakom.

    Day 7: Kumarakom - Alleppey,Alleppey

    Proceed to Alleppey after breakfast. Also called the "Venice of India", Alleppey is located in the Alapuzzha district of Kerala. On arrival, board a houseboat, locally called Kettuvallam. Cruise around backwaters of Alleppey to observe and experience the daily life of the villagers along the backwaters. Enjoy your dinner and a pleasant overnight stay in the houseboat in Alleppey.

    DAY 8: Alleppey - Cochin,Cochin

    Enjoy your early morning breakfast in the houseboat. The boat arrives at the jetty shortly after that. Our company representative will then transfer you to Cochin airport or hotel for your onwards journey.
